All individuals and corporates having a bank account are eligible to open their IPS account and thereafter to invest in Pakistan government securities. Investments in GOP securities can be made through an IPS, Investor Portfolio Securities, account which will use the funds available in regular bank account. IPS is an abbreviation used for “investor portfolio securities” account. This account is mandatory requirement for the purchase of Government securities. The account can be opened in any commercial bank in Pakistan. This account is used for the holding of government securities.
Use the same cellphone number and email address that is associated with your bank account when registering on this portal. The bank will compare these details with its own records; if matched, then bank will process the IPS account opening request; otherwise, the form will be returned to the client for rectification of these credentials.
Non-residents do not need to provide a cellphone number while registering because the portal's SMS service is confined to Pakistan only. Other registration data will stay the same. Non-residents will only get OTP via email during registration, login, and transaction processing OR whenever the portal demands it.
FPIN is a four-digit passcode that a customer must set at their first login to the portal. This code will be used each time the customer places a bid in the primary market or sells/buys in the secondary market. If someone forgets or wants to update/modify his FPIN, the option is available under the "My Profile"
Go to my profile, under my IPS account details, click on add more bank option. Fill the fields with required details and the IPS account opening request will be generated and send to the relevant bank. Upon acceptance by the bank, another IPS account will be added in the portfolio.

If an investor has executed buy/sell transaction of government securities other than this portal he can add/reduce his holdings by sending a portfolio edit request through this portal. After verification of the transaction by bank, the portfolio of the investor will get updated.
The price is the amount you paid or received in exchange for the purchase or sale of an instrument. The yield is expressed as a percentage of the return received or paid. The price and yield are inversely proportional. When the price of an instrument rises, the yield declines.
